Young at Art Studios was founded with the goal of providing creative guidance to the young and young at heart.  A Ventura County based small business established in 1992 that is owned and operated by
Elois Brett-Kress, Artist and Business Woman.

Strong Basics

At Young at Art Studios we feel that creativity is supported by basic technique and that once a student learns the ABC’s of art they are better able to express their imagination and creativity. 
The Young at Art philosophy is to teach fine arts as taught in college, using the standard academic process.

Choices in Programs

Students are started in a program based on his/her age and skill level and interests.  Most students start with our Fine Arts Basics (ages 5 years and up). Classes are grouped by the students age. (see schedule). Students that are10 years and older can choose a program from a group of mediums or subjects. For students with prior experience, placement is determined by a personal portfolio reviewed with the owner.

Artist Environment and Instructors

We believe that anyone can learn to draw if given the right tools and instruction.  Young at Art studios provides a comfortable and professional environment geared to all ages. We equip our studios with proper lighting, individual workspaces and customer storage areas for supplies. All of our staff are working artists that enjoy the opportunity to share their creative talents with the young and young at heart. We feel it is important that they are working artists or students of the arts before they come to us. Art is something you can learn but a true artist will always have more to share then anyone else.
All employees go through an extensive training program that takes about three months. We also encourage continued education and personal development. We work together with our employees to constantly improve our program and service.
